Old Styrofoam packing peanuts = new garland for City of Houston’s “Holiday Trees: Artistically Upcycled” exhibit.
Beautiful DIY paper garland :]
Materials:
Twine
Used book, preferably a vintage journal or old sheets of music
Scissors
Tape
Optional: circle cutters
Anthropologie inspired paper scroll garland.
This sounds incredibly easy to do and you get so much impact from it! This would look great for any holiday, birthday or season depending on the colors. I’m definitely going to make this in April for my daughter’s birthday.

My ongoing search for new uses for cereal boxes led me to Michele Pacey’s Michele Made Me blog [mentioned previously (several times) here], where Michele provides tutorials for making these three neat, decorative pieces from paperboard boxes.
To make your own pieces, see Michele’s tutorials here, here (garland), and here.

Crochet heart garland
Tutorial: http://www.designsponge.com/2011/01/diy-project-mollys-crochet-heart-garland.html
A Valentine tree for Pearl and Jewel! The sweet little birds were a gift from a friend. Last week we went for a family walk and we gathered some sticks from the woods. I spray painted them white so that the girls can decorate it for each holiday. The ‘vase’ is a left over empty can of formula that I spray painted and covered with pretty paper. Afterwards I added some fabric flowers to it.
