DIY Cat Print Tee Shirt Tutorial and Template from The Zen of Making here. I like this tutorial because it’s a good, basic tutorial for people who want to learn how to do block printing.
It’s spring, dammit. I celebrated the storms, warmth, sun and rapid temperature drop of this weekend by buying purple flowers, because I love purple and because flowers. So now my house is filled with irises. I don’t keep vases, because I’m not normally a flower person, so I repurposed a beer growler, Mason jars, and a water bottle for the cause. I even bought a live plant, which is something I haven’t done since Jones destroyed the last of my herb collection back in Phoenix. (The rosemary! Why the rosemary, you evil monster??) It didn’t take long for him to start in on these, but for now, it’s pretty in our little house.
All you need for a suitcase pet bed is a suitcase, something soft to fill it with and something to use as a base. And, of course, a pet to put in it.

Another pet bed idea: repurpose an old TV. For other creative new uses for old suitcases, check out previous Unconsumption posts here.
Sweet Animal Barrette Tutorial (and sexy lady paper beneath). This is the first tutorial from Ginermelon here. I think you either think the animals are cute or the animals look sad. Gingermelon is so thorough and has pattern for everything. I think I do like them (that’s why I’m posting them) but I also like the strangeness factor of the sexy lady paper under them. Am I the only one who sees this? From Gingermelon:
These little cuties are SO easy to make and really don’t take long at all! All you need is:
: Felt in different colours
: Seed beads
: Embroidery thread
: Polyfil
: And a metal hair clip
